Chipping Barnet MP Theresa Villiers was in Woodside Park on Sunday taking part in a Big Lunch street party.
Theresa is a regular at this annual event in Linkside and was joined this year by local Conservative ward councillor, Caroline Stock.
The Big Lunch is a national initiative, run by the Eden Project, to encourage people to close their road for a few hours once a year and get to know their neighbours to foster community spirit.
Everyone brings along food and drink and last year 9.3 million took to their streets to take part.
“This party has become a bit of a tradition for me and many people in Woodside Park, and in glorious sunshine it made for a great day,” said Theresa.
“Modern life sometimes makes it difficult for people to get to know their neighbours as much as they did in the past, so this sort of event really helps. In this case, it was also a chance for local people to get to meet their MP and ward councillor too.”
"This is the tenth year in succession when residents in Linkside have got together for the Big Lunch and they've only once been driven indoors by rain!"
Last year, the Big Lunch linked up with the Great Get Together, which was founded in memory of murdered MP Jo Cox and which will be running more street parties and events later this month from 22nd to 24th June.
