Chipping Barnet MP Theresa Villiers visited the new Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice building on Friday for a tour, in advance of the first inpatients arriving next month.

The facility is the first new hospice in London for ten years and opened in September.

Theresa was shown around the buildings in Byng Road, High Barnet, by the hospice’s Chief Executive, Sophie Andrews, and the Director of Income Generation and Communications, Alison Goodman.

Noah’s Ark offer on-site palliative care and support for more than 300 children and their families in a peaceful location. The hospice sits on the edge of 7.5-acre nature reserve.

“The work done by Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice is truly inspirational and I have been supporting them for many years,” said Theresa.

“It was great to be updated on the latest developments, and see round the facilities set in such a wonderful location on the edge of a nature reserve. This will provide opportunities for children with very serious illnesses to enjoy the health benefits of being outside in a natural space.

“I want to thank the whole team at Noah’s Ark for their incredible work. We also owe a huge debt of gratitude to the generous supporters of this project who have donated millions of pounds to create this state-of-the-art new facility which will bring such comfort to vulnerable children.”
