"I have been campaigning for years to support Barnet Market and secure its future. It is great news that the renovation of the market site in St Albans Road looks pretty much finished. I visited the site last Saturday and spoke to traders operating from temporary facilities outside the Spires. They were all expecting to be back in St Albans Road this Saturday."
"I would like to pay tribute to the Friends of Barnet Market group who have done so much to ensure this vitally important upgrade goes ahead. The facilities for the market have been very poor over recent years since the previous owners decided to demolish everything on the site in preparation for a development that never took place. The resurfacing that has taken place along with the removal of tatty hoardings is a great improvement and I thank the William Pears Group, who own the site and the Spires, for making these improvements happen."
