With less than two weeks to go until the elections for the London Mayor and Assembly and the by-election in Underhill ward for Barnet Council, Theresa Villiers has set out her support for the three Conservative candidates in Barnet. She has issued the following statement:
"On the 5th May, you will have the chance to elect your next Mayor of London, and your representative on the London Assembly. If you live in the Underhill ward, you will also be able to elect a new local councillor.
Zac Goldsmith is motivated by strong principles and he has a proven track record. He has been a highly effective Member of Parliament and he is the only candidate for London Mayor who can deliver more homes, better transport, cleaner air and safer streets, all without raising Mayoral council tax. Dan Thomas, your Conservative candidate for the London Assembly, is an experienced and dedicated local campaigner who will stand up for Barnet and Camden in City Hall.
Local resident, Lesley Evans, is standing to be the next ward councillor in the Underhill area. Lesley has extensive experience of volunteering locally and has lived in the borough for nearly 35 years. The residents of Underhill deserve a councillor who will work hard and stand up for them. I have known Lesley for over a decade and her experience and enthusiasm are exactly what is needed for the ward."
