Jitesh Gadhia, Srutidharma Das, and Theresa Villiers MP, at Diwali celebrations at Bhaktivedanta Manor
Following a visit to Bhaktivedanta Manor in Aldenham this evening, Theresa Villiers MP has issued the following Diwali message to her Hindu, Sikh and Jain constituents celebrating Diwali.
"It was an honour once again to be able to attend Diwali celebrations with ISKCON at Bhaktivedanta Manor this evening. In my speech to the large crowd waiting for the fireworks to begin, I reflected that the Diwali festival of lights can have meaning for our whole community, going beyond the faiths who traditionally mark this important date in the calendar."
"A festival that celebrates the triumph of hope over despair and light over darkness is something we can all value; and I wish everyone a very happy Diwali."
"It was good to see so many elected representatives attending the festival to give their support to everyone for whom Diwali is such a special day. I hope all the thousands of Diwali firework displays taking place this evening pass off safely and successfully."
