To show her support for fundraising for Breast Cancer Now, Chipping Barnet MP Theresa Villiers will be encouraging constituents to support the charity's annual "Wear it Pink" campaign.
The charity’s "Wear it Pink event takes place on Friday 19 October to raise cash for vital breast cancer research and Theresa recently pledged her support to the cause by dressing up in a splash of the colour alongside former British Olympic athlete and cancer survivor, Donna Fraser.
“This fun event is a rallying cry for the whole of the UK to get behind beating breast cancer and I hope people in Barnet get involved next month, just as they have in previous years,” said Theresa.
“The real joy is that anyone can take part to show their support whether it’s at school or work, or just out for coffee with friends.
“Great strides have been made in treating breast cancer, but it's still the UK’s most common form of the disease and each year around 11,500 women and 80 men lose their lives to it. So we need to keep raising money for vital research to improve treatment.”
Ideas to raise money include paying to wear pink at work or school, making pink cakes to sell, or even playing pink party games.
